Rostelecom suspends construction of data centers in regions

MOSCOW, Jun 27 (PRIME) -- Rostelecom Data Centers (RTK-DC), a subsidiary of Russian telecom and digital company Rostelecom, has suspended construction of data processing centers in the regions until the market situation stabilizes, RTK-DC said on Monday in a statement.

“At the moment we paused our plans of regional expansion to wait for stabilization of the market situation. Now our resources are focused on completion of building in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In particular, these are project Moscow-V and putting in operation of new halls where new clients come already in St. Petersburg,” the statement read.

RTK-DC said it means construction of new and expansion of old data centers, while all the existing will continue to work.

Some Western equipment suppliers, including processors for servers, said they have suspended shipments to the country because of Ukraine.
